About Tonya Mann
occupation: Beauty Editor for Quixtar, Makeup Artist, Writer, Image Consultant, and Personal Shopper to family and friends.
what is beauty tipsy? It's a lot of things! It's a blog about everything stylish. A virtual cocktail shaker of fashion and beauty dish with a twist of tipsy (that's me). It's also the term I like to use to describe the feeling you get when you find the perfect shade of gorgeous glossing, slip your foot into a fabulous shoe, or find yourself beyond happy about almost anything.
And beauty tipsy just suits my style. I'm not all that serious. I'm serious when I need to be but I prefer to keep things on the lighter side and try to have fun with it.
my “never leave home without” tipsy faves:
- SPF protection in the form of a fab Artistry Day Creme topped off with oversize sunglasses or classic aviators
- NAO reeling, wildfire, or lure lip gloss (Yes, I stockpile these limited editions!)
- Coconut Skin Trip and either Chanel Chance or Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Perfume
- Black Satin, Diamonds and Pearls, or Mademoiselle Nail Colors
- A fab handbag and a pair of shoes that make me feel perfectly pulled together
other info about me: You’ll get the complete skinny on my background through my first few blog posts, but here’s a snapshot. I’m a born and raised small-town mid-west girl with a love of fashion and beauty that borders on obsessive. Or as I often tell my mom, “I have issues.” Handbags, shoes, beauty products, jewelry, girly stationary and sassy cards – all issues!
Perhaps that’s how I landed as the Beauty Editor at Quixtar. Prior to my time here, I spent most of my career as a consultant for Accenture and Deloitte & Touche, covering exciting things like system implementations, training, and benefit communications. I’ll never forget my former boss saying, “Just pretend that you’re doing an interview for Vogue,” before I had to call my client to discuss Flexible Spending Account scenarios. It should have been a sign that I was in the wrong industry. While it’s been a winding road of a career path, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Every step of the way I’ve learned something that I still apply to my work today. And the people I’ve met – truly amazing. Some certifiable but most are amazing! And now, I come to work each day to discuss truly exciting topics - how to keep people guessing at my age for example! It’s still work, but its work that I’m passionate about.
Personally, I’m blessed with amazing friends; the most caring, genuine, and supportive family that a girl could ask for; and one super-sized pooch known as Darby or Big Papa with some special issues of his own. What can I say, it’s enough to make a girl tipsy!
