A beauty boost

Monday, October 01, 2007

I cannot believe it's already October! So much has happened in such a short period of time. The great news, the fabulous fall season has arrived with so many things to give your beauty biz a major boost!

  • Artistry essentials are making a scene! Sorry for not being able to provide the full 411 earlier. The essentials line is really exciting with two totally new skin care systems, three supplemental skin care products, and the most amazing makeup kits. I'm seriously crazy about the makeup kits. So smart, a serious value, and finally the mineral foundation some of you have been asking for. The most exciting thing ... essentials mineral foundation already has a few fans because it was used on the set of Major Movie Star! I need to back up and give you the behind-the-scenes info about being on set for the movie, but it's going to have to wait for right now.
  • You've been asking how to introduce Artistry products to others and the Artistry Skin Care Sales Kit has the answers. Check it out for three easy sales techniques that will make sharing all the amazing Artistry products as easy as 1-2-3.
  • Go ahead and give your skin a lift! New 3D Lifting Serum uses the lasted technology to give your skin a virtual lift with instant and longterm results. While I haven't tested this product out much on myself I'm already a firm believer. Why? Because the first to truly covet this product was my mom! She offered to test out the product and was absolutely in awe of the results. Hey, my dad even commented and that's proof positive for me that if you're looking for a lift this new Time Defiance product will deliver.

Check out the latest and greatest and let me know what you think. As for me, I'm totally tipsy about everything that has been accomplished and the fact that fall seems to be promising such a beautiful future.

Cheers,

Tonya, why is the new Time Defiance 3D Lifting Serum priced higher in Canada at 114% of the US price, ie. at $74 vs. the US price of $64.90. The currencies are at parity, with the CDN dollar actually edging higher from time to time, and expected to hold that position for at least the next year. They appear to be the identical formulas... why should Canadians be paying more in real dollar terms when it's the identical product? Are the Canadian operations not run efficiently and in need of a greater "margin?" I notice that the CDN/US PV ratio does not reflect the higher price... it's 1.08 PV to PV ratio vs. the 114% price ratio. If I miscalculated or misunderstood something, please correct me. With appreciation,

Tonya, as the resident Beauty, Fashion, etc guru, though a bit off topic, what can you tell us about the exciting news we hear that Sandra Bullock is going to be doing some work for Artistry, at least globally, and that Gabrielle Reece is going to be the spokesperson for Simply Nutrilite?

I don't understand the benefits or uses of the soothing cream from Artistry essentials. Who would want to use it? Someone who has acne? Someone who has dry skin? Itchy skin? rough skin? The product description says "sensitive skin". Can you help me understand what that means, please? :) Also, is this cream to be used only on the face, or is it ok for the rest of the body as well?  Thanks!

Dear Beauty Blogger,

Thank you for your comments! Several factors beyond exchange rate affect pricing of Canadian products, and it is important to note that the exchange rate minimally influences Canadian prices. Factors affecting our pricing model include: positioning within the prestige market in Canada, distribution costs in Canada, import duties and taxes, environmental levies, the competitive arena, and increased costs relating to the manufacture, bilingual packaging, and promotion of the product, and significantly lower sales volumes, and manufacturing power versus the US.

The factors outlined above affect both distribution cost, and suggested retail cost in Canada. Also, please note that the Artistry Time Defiance 3D Lifting Serum is very competitive in Canada at $107.75 suggested retail versus Estee Lauder's Re-Nutriv Intensive Lifting Serum at $250.00 CDN.

We hope this answers your question regarding pricing for this product. Thank you for your inquiry.
